There are four major resort towns in Jamaica which are situated along the northern coast. Not surprising, most of the natural attractions are here as well. For the visitors seeking fun there will never be a boring day in Jamaica, there is always something of great interest to do in and around these resort towns.

Port Antonio the Mother of Jamaica's tourism thrives on its eco- friendly environment. It offers seclusion and visitors will find many eco-inns surrounded by jungle, seaside cottages and glamorous villas. The beautiful Reach falls will worth your while and rafting on the Rio Grande is another trademark of this beautiful town. The Blue Mountains are in close proximity where many enjoy going up a hiking trail. Incidentally this is where the world famous Blue Mountain Coffee is grown.

Ocho Rios situated between Montego Bay and Port Antonio is known to many as the home of splashes. The world famous Dunn's River falls, swim with dolphins, horseback riding and bobsledding at Mystic Mountain are just some of what this resort town has to offer. There are many white sand beaches with crystal clear water for the sun lovers. Bob Marley the reggae king was born just a few miles out of Ocho Rios in a small rural district call Nine Mile.  Incidentally, this is where he was laid to rest this is a must visit for all reggae lovers. 

Montego Bay is currently the tourist capital of Jamaica boasting both natural and man-made attractions. Situated on the northern coast of Jamaica in middle of Ocho Rios and Negril it is the complete vacation spot. Montego Bay is in a great physical position which affords its visitors to enjoy some of the best Jamaica attractions. Ocho Rios just a hour and a half away while Negril is under a hour. The Southern Coast which boasts attractions such as YS Falls, Black River Safari and Appleton Estate Rum are all about 90 minutes away.

Negril is the favorite of many, home to the famous seven-mile white sand beach, cliff diving and all types of water sports. The famous Ricks Café a must visit once you are in Jamaica. This is the home of Negril's cliff diving and where one will see the most beautiful sunset ever.  Negril is just an hour away from the Montego Airport and is really a great choice. It is quite a small resort town where almost everything is in close proximity and when the sun goes down in the evening the vacation really starts.
